Tour Description : Walking, you have to walk! This tour lasts about 4 hours of walking. It gives you a complete view of Istanbul from both sides of the Golden Horn.
Our tour starts next to the Million Stone where the zero point of Constantinople was. Then we walk along Sogukcesme Street where we can admire the typical wooden houses of the Ottoman era, renovated by Turing Automobile then along the walls of the Topkapı Palace we will enter Gülhane Park ; the rose garden of the former palace. Stroll in the beautiful park then see the Gottes Column. We rest a little in the park and follow the tram path and see the Alayköskü Pavilion from where the Sultan followed the parade of his army and the entry and exit of his Grand Vizier in his palace which is located behind the Sublime Gate. Passing in front of the sublime gate we arrive at Sirkeci ; an important crossroads and see the Orient Express Terminal Station built by the German architect Tascmund inaugurated in 1890 and then it was the arrival point for several celebrities including Agatha Christie who wrote the famous novel “Murder on the Orient Express” Then arriving at Eminönü Square take a look at the New Mosque built between the years 1597 – 1663 facing the Galata Bridge . See the spice market and stroll through it with the smells of all kinds of spices like thyme, saffron, cinnamon and others and dried fruits. Then we will cross the Galata Bridge to see the fishermen on the Bridge, possibility to try the Narghile and arrive at Karakoy and take the Finicular (Tunel in Turkish) which was designed by the French engineer Mr. Gavand in 1875. The shortest and one of the oldest after the London Underground. We arrive at the pedestrian İstiklal Avenue while strolling to see the fish market, the flower passage as well as several important buildings of exceptional beauty. Then we arrive at Taksim Square where our excursion ends.
